Schlesinger’s Monthly Fireside

Greetings-  The next Bahá'í Fireside Meeting will be February 2nd at Peggy & David’s

We will be celebrating the national holiday of Groundhog Day, Feb 2, with dinner and a discussion about the Baha’i Faith by Dr. Angelita Reyes, an engaging speaker from ASU, who will be sharing her perspectives on social equality.

Dinner will commence at 6:00 PM, and our discussion will begin around 7:30.  If you cannot come for the dinner, you may want to come for the discussion. We do ask for a RSVP from you if you are attending dinner so all may be assured of sufficient food

There is no clear connection between Social Equality and Groundhog Day, but it might be noted that the weather affects all of us alike.  Indeed, we are all citizens of the "Little blue marble,” as the planet Earth was called by Buckminster Fuller. He said this prior to the space missions that showed us the beauty of our collective home as it spins through the dark vacuum of space.  Mr. Fuller’s thoughts on groundhog’s actually predicting the weather are apparently unrecorded.

We would like you to join us on Saturday, Feb 2 at 6:00 PM at 5161 W. Ivanhoe St, Chandler.  We generally end our formal discussion around 8:30 (-ish) and break for dessert and further discussion. The entire point of the evening is consider the spiritual implications of human behavior and how the Bahá'í teachings support activities that unify and elevate the condition of humanity as a whole.

Unlike some other viewpoints, we see the evolution of the entire human race from hatred and fear toward acceptance and love as the spiritual path humanity must follow for us all to survive.

Hope to see you there.  Please call 602-697-1099 or reply to this email if you are coming, and we will look for your smiling face on Saturday, February 2, at 6:00 P.M. for dinner. If you have a special food-allergy, please let us know and we will try to accommodate.

Warm regards and Happy Groundhog Day,
